Kids Adventures

Today me and Mommy went to a place called Kids Adventures. It's a play area for kids to have a fun time and play. Mommy took lots of pictures, but this is a video of my favorite toy there. I did this over and over and over again!

UNC vs NcState

Tonight was the first basketball game between Mommy and Daddy's favorite basketball teams - UNC Tarheels and NcState Wolfpack.  Since I am still too young to choose MY favorite team, Mommy put out both shirts and I picked my favorite (I actually chose both shirts).  By the way, the tarheels won the game 74-55.

Mawmaw Deck

Me and Mommy headed back to Winston to surprise Mawmaw Deck for the weekend. She had to stay a little longer than she had planned because she got Vertigo. We had a fun time playing together and looking/reading books. Here are a couple of pictures that Mommy took of us together!

Toddler classroom

Today is my first day in my new daycare classroom. I am getting really excited to meet all my new friends and teachers! Daddy cooked me an egg for breakfast (my favorite) and I had a few Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and milk of course! Overall a great breakfast for a big day!

Mommy is reminding me to chew my food - I tend to swallow it whole.

Rough Play

I am 100% boy and with that said I LOVE to push and turn things over. Daddy took this video to show you how rough I can be with my toys. Mommy talks to me everyday about being more gentle with my toys, but I just don't understand just yet.

TV and snacks

Daddy took these pictures today of me snacking on goldfish and drinking milk while trying to control the remote control for the TV channel.  What's so funny about this is that I really don't have any interest in TV right now, but it sure does look like it here.

Daycare

Yesterday was my last day in Room 206 - my infant day care room.  I was so sad to leave all my friends and teachers, but they said I would have so much fun in the new classroom!  Not only was I sad, but so was Mommy!  I asked Mommy to send a camera on my last day so they could take some pictures.  Unfortunately Ms. Molly didn't make it into any of the pics though.  Thanks so much to my first ever teachers and everything you taught me!

My First Ear Infection

So I unfortunately have my very first ear infection. I consider myself lucky to just now get my first one at 14 months old.  It started in my left ear and spread to my right ear. I also have croup on top of it.  Me and Mommy were in Winston visiting Mawmaw and Pawpaw when it first came on so we went to see Sophie's doctor.  She gave me 3 different medicines to take.  Once we got back home Mommy took me to see my doctor and I got another antibiotic before finally getting over the infection.  I am feeling much better now, but from the pictures below you can see I wasn't feeling the greatest!

14 Month Birthday

I turned 14 months old on January 6th. 

Here are my newest accomplishments since turning 14 months:

*I am officially a walker now!  I am still unable to get up off the floor to a standing position so I crawl over to something (really fast by the way) to stand up and then I am off!  Mommy says I waddle from side to side while walking, but I think it's cute.  I also put out my hands in front of me and have a big smile while walking.  I am pretty proud of myself!
*I am still into EVERYTHING!  Mommy and Daddy are having to baby proof the house again now that I can reach higher up and pull things off of shelves.
*I am drinking whole milk now out of a straw cup...no more bottles - well except before bed.  I also drink thickened water (with Simply Thick because I aspirate) and milk out of a regular open faced cup.
*I am eating all kinds of foods now.  I love snacking on crunchy things such as gold fish, graham crackers, Ritz crackers, Cheerios (Apple Cinnamon & Fruity) & cookies.
*I love chicken, Salmon, pasta, lasagna, and any green vegetable (I know - the opposite of my Mommy).
*I LOVE breakfast foods - eggs and pancakes are my favs!  I also enjoy bananas and applesauce.
*I am eating off of a plate now and can feed myself with a spoon with a little guidance from an adult.  I sometimes though get really excited and shove handfuls of food in my mouth all at once.
*I sometimes don't do a great job at chewing my food.  I tend to swallow it whole without chewing.  Because of this and my aspirating I still go to feeding therapy and see Ms. Lisa usually every other week.
*At day care I am eating like such a big boy!  In my infant class I have been eating the toddler lunch to prepare me for when I move up to the 1 year old class.  This means that Mommy doesn't have to pack my snacks and lunch anymore which she LOVES!  Ms. Colleen told Mommy that I will me moving up to the toddler class January 17th.
*I have chubby cheeks and a milk belly!
*I have 4 teeth - two on the top and two on the bottom.
*I still put everything in my mouth before I play with it.
*I jibber jabber all day - LOTS of sounds.
*My first words were: Momma, hey, bye bye, more, Dadda,
*I point to everything now - especially when I want something.
*I can point to my nose when asked and wave hello and goodbye.
*I understand a lot of words but haven't figured out how to say them yet.
*I have learned to associate names with objects such as tree, sun roof, balls, hockey, tv, phone, light.
*I enjoy looking at books but I have to turn the pages.
*I LOVE to pull things out and then put them back in.
*I smile constantly and laugh a lot!
*I am really ticklish.
*My eye color is hazel and my hair color is light brown.
*I got my first haircut on Mommy's birthday (I was 13 months old)
*I usually go to sleep around 8:30 and wake up around 7:30-8:00.
*My naps at home vary in time from 1-2 hours, but at school I consistently sleep 2-2 1/2 hours.
*I am not the biggest fan of my car seat for long duration's of time - unless I am sleepy.
*I am in a big boy car seat now and have been for about a month.  I can now look out the windows and see Mommy and Daddy better now.
*I am wearing 12 month clothing and some 18 month shirts.
*I am doing great with keeping my shoes on.  I don't really try to pull them off anymore.
*I am wearing size 3 diapers, but will be moving up to size 4 any day now.
*I still LOVE bath time.
*I don't have to take Prilosec anymore for my acid re flux!
*I sometimes show stranger anxiety, but not often.
*I am starting to cry when I see Mommy or Daddy leave sometimes.
*I am not afraid of the dark.
*I love opening and closing doors.
*I love pushing any of my toys across to room.
*I love throwing and knocking over my toys.
*I still enjoy playing in the kitchen cabinets and playing with the pots and pans.  Daddy put locks on all the cabinets and doors except for one for me to play in.
*I still enjoy climbing up and down stairs.  I do a really good job at turning around backwards to go down the stairs.
*I still enjoy playing in the refrigerator, but now my favorite is the dish washer.  As soon as I hear Mommy open it, I am in the kitchen so fast to play in it.

At 14 months old I weigh 22 pounds and 3 ounces.

Mommy took this video last night before my bath time. Each day I am beginning to walk a little more. I think this was the most steps I have taken so far! I am also free standing for 5-10 seconds now.

 

Vroom Vroom

Daddy took this video this morning after I woke up. I am playing with one of my Christmas presents that Mawmaw and Pawpaw gave me. As soon as I wake up each morning, this is the first toy I want to play with.

 

Getting together with Bensen and Keyen

Me, Mommy and Daddy went over to  spend some time with Sherry, Rodney, Bensen and Keyen last night.  I got to play with all of Bensen's toys which was awesome!  Keyen is still too little to play with so he stayed in his swing.  After we played for a while it was time to eat dinner.  We had yummy lasagna and pasta!  I REALLY enjoyed it!  After dinner, we got to play some more which was great!  I really wanted to go up and down the stairs (Ms. Sherry doesn't keep a gate at the stairs like Mommy) so I was constantly trying to crawl up them.  As you can imagine I was not happy about that.  Over all we had such a great time and look forward to playing with Bensen again soon!
